Learning Outcomes


  • By the end of the workshop, you will be able to describe the neuroscience of the tactoile system and explain the links with Occupational Participation
  • You will be able to illustrate to others the importance of considering the tactile system when working using a trauma-informed approach.
  • You will be able to identify the implications for practice, in relation to the therapeutic use of tactile input within a mental health setting
  • You will be able to utilise an evidence-based practice approach with reference to the latest research using tactile input in your clinical setting
  • You will be able to determine appropraiet sensory-based strategies to use as part of your clinical-based interventions
  • You will be able to advocate for the importnce of therapeutic use of touch within mental health services for your client group.
